  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just picked up a 2012 Genesis with Tech Package. My question is: Is it possible to stream music over bluetooth in this car. Haven't been able to figure out how. I tried a usb connection but is doesn't like my IPhone 5s.

If you have a 2012 Genesis, the you might want to change your information about what car you own, since you don't have a 2G Genesis (2nd Generation started with 2015 Genesis).

I don't know about Bluetooth (that may have come later), but did you try a Hyundai iPod cable to play music from your phone?

Bluetooth music streaming wasn't available until 2013 and forward. Try using a Hyundai audio cable. It has to plug into the USB and the audio jack in order to work. You can also find them on eBay for less than a dealer.

Btw - you might also find an older iPod or iPhone 4 on eBay and just load it with music and leave it in the center console plugged in all of the time.

Actually, BT audio streaming comes standard with the '12 Base and the Premium package models. It's only the '12 Tech package that lacks this feature. Just one of the many reasons why I didn't buy the Tech model.

The OP has a Tech model and was asking specifically about the Tech model.

Yes and No. You'll need one of these:

Mine lives in the center console, and plugs into the Aux port. I don't know about Iphones, but Android can have more than one BT connection open at a time. You just tell it which is phone and which is streaming audio. So my phone connects to the built-in BT for the phone, and the Kinivo BT for music. All automatic, no touch.

Do your steering wheel controls work with this unit?

thanks,

I have both tech and premium packages, and I was not able to get it to work. Am I missing something?
