  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello,

I have a genesis with the 17 speaker lexicon system. I know my options for upgrading the head unit are close to nil, but was wondering if anyone has ever put new speakers, subs, or an aftermarket amplifier in? It's a good system, but wondering what I can do to add some more "oomph" to the system.

I had the stereo shop take care of all of it. I know nothing about wiring, but the shop tapped into the rear deck sub wiring, and all 17 interior speakers still have sound.

I took it to Best Buy after buying the amp sub box and wiring on ebay. This was 3 years ago and its been fine. He didnt have any issues and I have a sub adjustment knob up front as well. I remember reading all the forums from years ago when everyone was acting like the Lexicon system was rare or unique in the way that it was wired. It has been great adding some deep end to it. However I have a single 12 in a box and sometimes it sounds muddy with little punch and a lot of low end droning. You may consider 2 10s or something else.

Sub in the trunk I assume? Active sub or mount the amp under drivers seat?
i recently purchased 2015 r spec and although the factory system is okay it leaves something to be desired on the low end bass reproduction. Any recommendations to save me any trouble ?
Much appreciated!
