  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

These were supposed to be put on my car however the dealer said they are not yet available for the 2012? I have seen posts here about ordering them with this option but does anyone here actually have them on the 2012? Are they available?

You shouldn't take your R Spec Muddin':p

The only comments I can remember about mud guards is 1. that there isn't a factory mud guard available, and 2. There is very little in the way of rigid structure to mount them. I can't confirm the first point, but certainly agree with the second.

I won't have mud guards on this car, although I did on my last one. Unless you regularly drive gravel roads, you should be ok. If in doubt, follow Scott's rule! ;)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I had mud guards installed on my car at the port of entry. I saw that this is where they were installed after seaching my vehicle on HMASERVICE website. So they are defintiely available. The only porblem is that they are black, and my car is titanium silver, but the contrast is ok, and I really do not have time to have my car in a shop gettnig painted to match. They look like the picture in the link.

I had the factory black ones on my 2010 4.6 and thought they looked great in black. The fit is great and they actually come with SS fasteners. Ordered a set on ebay a few minutes ago.

When I bought my Genesis in December, they had a white Genesis in the showroom with black mud guards on it. I asked about them and the dealer said they never know what Hyundai is going to ship to them and that they are always surprised by the options that appear on some cars and not others. This is a high volume dealer for this area and this is the only Genesis I noticed that had mud guards on it. They had dozens in stock. Mine had about every option I could find and I even got them to order and install the V8 side chrome and install it for me. Haven't checked to see if the mud guards can be ordered.

The outer edge of the rear mud guards are not catching as much mud, the flare on the rear fenders catch most of it.

The front guards are keeping a significant amount of mud off the body, although much passes around them.

Thanks for the pics Wutsa. I was contemplating getting them for my Genny, but looks like they don't do much anyway:o

Having driven through 2 snow storms already, think they are worth it. They don't extend far enough out to catch everything, but here, they throw sand down on the roads, and it seems to do good enough job to keep sand off the doors.

The mud guards look purdy and give the car a richer, more finished look.
