I've had my new 2012 v6 with tech/prem package for a week now and have a few questions/comments I'd like some feedback on. the first two are my biggest concern.
1) Yesterday, I started the car, and the DIS stayed on the Genesis splash screen for the longest time, then seemed to 'reboot' itself and started. Anyone seen this? anything to be concerned about?
2) Since then, I have noticed a message (maybe always like this, not sure) that when I tried to use voice commands soon after starting up (say within the first 3 minutes) I gets a message that says something similar to SDS synchronization is taking place, try your request later. Anyone seen this? is it normal?
3) Is it just me, or is the sunglass compartment, just too darn small. I don't have large glasses but it does not seem easy to take them in and out. I guess this is more of a comment than a question
4) Any way to set preferences in NAV to shortest distance vs quickest time?
5) any way to have NAV show time of arrival (i.e 8:30pm) instead of just the amount of time left to arrival? (I have tons of nav 'complaints', but that topic has been dicusses elsewhere, so I will leave it at that.
6) any way to search POI from voice by name?
7) I had an issue when I picked up my car, with some sort of paint overspray over the entire car. only way it would come off was by the dealer buffing it, but they had to buff/wax it twice. should I be concerned? could they have worn off the clearcoat? Dealer ensured me they use some 3 step process in buffing to prevent this. I don't know much about paint and finishes, so I had to take their word for it. It looked fine once they were all done, just concerned about later if swirl marks will show once the wax wears off or something.
8) XM - my old standalone xm (sirius actually) had an artist alert - does the genny xm have this? If so, I couldn't find it
9) it seems that I can pair multiple bluetooth phones to my car, and even set which one is default, BUT it seems I can only have one connected at one time - is this correct? what I was hoping to do is have both my phone and my wife's connected so that if EITHER one of us got a call, the car would answer it (and I figured the default would be for which phone to use for outgoing calls) - but it doesn't seem to be working that way as it is only allowing me to have one phone 'connected' at a time. am I doing something wrong or is this just the way it is? and if so, then what is the 'default' indicator really used for?
Thanks
Brian
