  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Where do I find brake pads for my june built 2012 5.0 Rspec?
Autozone,Pep Boys,Oreilly...these brake pads are too tall by maybe 1/8" inch.wont fit into caliper..
Dealership brake pads are a match, but expensive $189.00 for front only.Anybody with a 5.0 rspec (brembo) find replacement pads other than from a dealer....I say (brembo) because that's what dealer called them and I was told their where two types of brakes for the Rspec in that year...

But that link takes me to a part totally different then the brake calipers on my Genesis.

The Rspec sedan that I own has the same brake setup as a 3.8 coupe track car.
Im really just trying to find a more reasonably priced set of brake pads. The 4.6 sedan brake pads can be had for a measly $18.00 / $49.00 dollars.
Are the front brake pads on my car really worth paying this price..over $180.00
They work fine still no problems.
Its just that they have about 3/16 of an inch of brake pad material left on them.

Hey guys. I just changed my brakes in front of my R-spec sedan. Yes indeed, they are brembo brakes, and was very easy to change. Just so you guys know, we have three sets of brakes (pads and shoes) for the car: front brakes, rear brakes, and parking brakes. Yes, there is a drum brake design for the parking brake.

My rear pads were not that worn, so I did not change them. My car has 55,000 miles on it, and because of the big-hunking V8 where the inertia is greater in front, you would expect the pads to wear quicker. Much quicker.

Here is a video like to a 2011 4.6L V8 where the user changed his brembo pads.

If you are going to change your own pads, please think safety first, and use all of the necessary precautions and safety measures when going under a car.

I use Wagner Thermoquite Pads available at Advanced Autoparts. Cost me about $55.00. I also purchased the rear pads. Will change the rear pads later on in August. I find less brake dust with these pads, and without the
cost impact.

I am also experiencing the oil burning and I changed my oil to Mobil1 5W-20 EP. Took a 400 mile trip out of town and did not see any oil burning. Not sure if the EP is helping but plan on keeping tabs on it. I noticed the engine is running smoother.

Changing the oil on this beast was not fun. Hyundai has a lot of screws for the dust covers. I can understand why the dust covers are necessary, but my goodness so many screws. Being a mechanical engineering, I am very critical of other people's designs, and always look for improvement.

Hope this helps.

They are "Brembo-like" in pad style and open top, slide pin-quick change action, but the calipers are designed and built by Mando. Mando produces the four-piece four-piston calipers seen on most BH Sedans and they also produce the monoblock four-piston calipers seen on the 13+ VI Equus and DH Sedans.

No BH or DH Genesis Sedan, in any global region, in any trim level, received brakes by Brembo. Now the Brembo brakes from the Genesis Coupe do bolt on front and rear.
