  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

There are a few engine swap threads here for those who like wrenching. But if you're stuck already, then they maybe the best solution is to find a trustworthy local mechanic with experience doing similar work with Hyundai engines. Hopefully they are secure enough with their own business that they can have an honest conversation with you about your car and your money and what is better spent where. Engine job is probably $5k labor plus whatever can be sourced for an engine. Crate motors will probably total the car, so you're probably going to need to go used/junkyard/ebay and they look like they're in the $5k range. Picking the right mechanic is going to matter most here. So $10k budget to get a $15k car back on the road. Sorry for your loss.

I feel your pain. I am in the exact same boat. I bought mine used on Thursday and complete failure on Friday morning. I've been trying to source a used engine but there is nothing out there. The seller is a good friend of mine and is as distraught as I am. He offered to refund the purchase but if there is an opportunity to replace the engine I'd likely go for it as the car is out of my league to begin with. ☹️
