  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

At least, if cars.com listing can be trusted. In the Washington, D.C. they are saying some 2012 4.6L's are on lots, and priced around the 40,5XX range.

At first, I thought it must be an error, but there seems to be too many of them to all be mistakes.

I thought the pricing was going to be a touch higher on the V8 in 2012, as it includes "everything" but maybe I'm missing something.

Thanks... very tempting to put down a deposit.

cars.com takes you to fitzmall.com and it clearly says the '12 V8s are all on order.

all the '12 3.8's i se in my area are listed at $43k+ so i highly doubt that to be accurate.

I've found two dealerships offering $2000 under invoice before competitive/loyalty rebates (plus processing fee) on new 2012 V6s in Bethesda and Gaithersburg MD. They eight have in stock; like I said yesterday, I'm getting tempted to go test the waters over there. It's probably an hour-plus drive for me and DC/MD traffic is the only thing deterring me from heading over there.

Hi, I leave in the same area. Can you tell me which dealerships you are referring to? And what are the exact prices?

at $2k under invoice they are making nothing. that's all of their holdback and advertising fees. trade in, maybe? if not i bet you could not produce the sales agreement showing this to be the case in the end.

These dealers are still trying to NOT go $2k under invoice on the left overs and you're saying you can do better on '12's? better check that through.

'12 V8's are invoicing around $42,xxx with around $2k in holdback/advertising fees, so i can see a good deal on '12 V8's being around $41,xxx before rebates. i still think it will be tough to get that when they first come out, maybe $500 under but not $1,000, not for a while, again unless they are beating people up on their trades.

remember used car prices are at a 17 year HIGH, what you think you have in your trade is probably undervalued and they KNOW this so they can shoot you a "great" number but screwing you on your trade by giving you $1,000 less, or more.

I know it is disappointing to you, but those numbers don't surprise me in the least.

Sure... it was in my first post.

fitzmall.com

The dealerships are near 270/495 and farther north on 270. I hate driving down that way. The dealerships have good reviews on google and dealerrater.

Someone else asked about trade-in... I never mentioned it. I'd like to think that I've bought enough cars (11... going on 12) to spot a shady markup situation. I usually just say I want this car at the qouted price, brought to me, and do the paperwork in my house. I'll have a bank loan check for $xx,xxx and not a penny more. The one dealership with the cabernet red '12 was ok with doing just that.

Sure, they could screw around once they got to my house but that has never happened.

For those of you wanting one in an MSRP market, arrange the deal, fly in, have them pick you up, and buy it and drive it home. I saved $9,000 off MSRP buying an S2000 that way. I flew to Tallahassee and drove home.

A spreadsheet with names/dealership/OTD prices and a long weekend is how and when I buy. Works everytime.

I agree and did the math to check their pricing too. But my post above has more details. They could be going for volume... who knows?
