  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am being frustrated in my attempt to purchase a 2012 because my geographical location (Northern WEstchester, NY) seems to be a wasteland for 2012 Genesis sedans. The 3 dealers closest to me in New York have none at all. I am looking longingly at areas in California that appear to be inundated with the vehicle. As a result, the indication is that vehicle prices are much lower there.

Anyone know if this is a temporary state of affairs and when the Northeast will catch up? Is there a boat about to dock that will redress the balance?

Try calling these people:

Hyundai Motor America Eastern Region
1100 Cranbury South River Road
Jamesburg, NJ 08831
(800) 633-5151

Mark---Thanks for that---I've given them a call and we will see what they can do.

I pointed out that the shortage in the NE clearly impacts prices--the True Car in my area for the Genesis I want is $37,638. In Santa clara, CA it is $36,113!

Amen, Brother!

I have been bitching about the same thing. Murphreesboro (sp?), TN has 2012s. The ENTIRE state of Texas has two. Two? Freaking seriously?

One problem may be that Hyundai doesn't have a port of entry for vehicles on the Gulf Coast (only east and west coasts). But you can contact these folks and maybe find out status:

Hyundai Motor America
South Central Region
1421 South Beltline Road, Suite 400
Coppell, TX 75019
(800) 633-5151

What part of NY are you in? you talking about 2012 right ? Cuz here in NYC and NJ there are like at least 100 of them on Dealer's lot. All V6

if u're talking about V8 then I guess not yet, but it should be here soon.

I checked my area.

$39,588.00 +tax/fee
Take $1500 off if you qualify for coupon

I believe that deal you got is very good. That deal is below invoice but not sure that 39850 has coupon included or not.

P.S.
Given that 4.6 in my area is only

$40,958.00 +tax/fee
Take $1500 off if you qualify for coupon

I'll rather get 4.6:D

Texas has more than two. There are several in Dalls and Houston. Do a search on auto trader.com. They are 3.8's only, no 4.6's. Anyone know where the 4.6's are showing up at this time.

As a follow up, a bit disappointed with the Hyundai response. Essentially they punted. They say that the vehicle "was released in early July" when we know that they first appeared in June. They refused to provide any indication of when the three dealers in my vicinity will have the 2012, referring me back to the dealers who have told me they don't know. Mention was made of my placing a deposit which I said would be fine if Hyundai could provide an approximate date when the vehicles will be in. They said they understood my position but that "understanding" was as far as they would go.

I understand the dealers "represent" that they have 2012s, but very few are actually on the lot. There are roughly five units that are actually on the lot. If the listing does not show an actual picture of the actual unit, then the vehicle is not there. It is "on order".

Call the dealer and push them to tell you if the vehicle is sitting on their lot. You will not find many..

I think the websites for all Hyundai dealers are run by HMA, or at least the new car inventory part of it. So that HMA puts the inventory into the computer for a dealer as soon as they allocate a specific VIN to that dealer.

thought that too, but there are plenty of '12s here in NJ, not many V8's but plenty of V6's and there are V8's just have to hunt them down.

here's 2012's by highest price first all the mainland US

Called the South Central division today and the person I spoke with confirmed that they do not have any 4.6s in their territory. She could not provide an estimate as to when she expects them to arrive.

Sucks.
