  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

8spd all across the board, no AWD yet
3.8GDI, 4.6, 5.0GDI
lane departure warning system
power folding mirrors w/puddle lamp
R-spec w/sport tuned suspension (5.0)
Heated rear seat

just to name few of the changes for the 2012

:)

Do the back seats fold down yet? Seems the simplest things were missed.

Rear seats don't go down as part as structural support- class leading crash test results- or so I was informed.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Any word on release date?

Can anyone elaborate on this? How sure it is that those features will come on the 2012? From where did you get that info please?
Any idea on the release date? I am on the fence and honestly was getting drifted away from the Genny, mainly becasue of the upcoming hike on gas prices (My commute is about 70 miles a day)

With gas prices going up this year, GDI is a must for the TAU engine; what I don't know is how much the MPG will improve, hopefully a lot.
For all other stuff all they have to do is include the features already available in the KDM version. We are getting the washed down version of the Genny, no wonder why the Koreans were so upset when in 2008 they learned the car would "only" cost $30ish in the USA. What they missed is that not all features were coming with the car to North America.

GDI, better MPG and sport suspension control (button on the central console as it is on the KDM) is on my long and already old whishlist.

I would trade lane departure warning for blind spot monitoring (as Jaguar). Lane departure warning is for idiots that text and drive or Toyota and Buick drivers that fall asleep for driving a boring car.:D

expect a debut at NY auto show with public release not much later.
dont expect much improved fuel economy. You get bigger engine, more hp, more torque. 5-10% tops ad that's thanks to 8 speed auto and DI...
If you worry about gas, Genesis is not the car for you. Try Veloster or Elantra (40 mpg) or Sonata Turbo - 33mpg (Highway)..

Thanks amdmaxx for the info, very useful, will wait for the NYAS.

Yeah, the Elantra LX fully loaded seems to be a great balance for a single commuter who wants a cool car, some driving comfort and great MPG. But I love the Genny and I want to pamper myself with a nice car, I tried the Lexicon 7.1 and loved the freaking sound of it. arrgg... not an easy decision.

Definitely wait for the MY12.
I've seen the '12 Genesis(with camo) in person and the changes to the rear seemed pretty good.
Not sure if the wheels were production version, but the 19" wheels with 5 double spokes looked awesome.

I'd like blind spot assistance, though there are times when LDW would come in handy, too, even driving an exciting car. :)

Also, the side skirts looked more pronounced than the current gen. Maybe I was smoking something funny, but it definitely looked more.. sporty.

The lights on right side pic look the same 2010 but the ones with camo do look different, close to the ones on the concept car presented 3 years ago (has it been that long already?) and I like what I see so far.
Rims and sport skirt also sound promising
Thanks for sharing.

There are different versions or stages of preproduction vehicles, and I think the one on the left is much closer to the production version.
Don't quote on me on that sport skirts.
For some reason, it looked slightly different to me.
I definitely liked the new wheels.

Not to steer the topic to a different direction, but coming this Summer it is going to be difficult for some of us to make a decision....
