  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Need advice - should I get an extended warranty on my 2013 3.8? Have 78K on her.

In my personal opinion, YES. I purchased a 2011 4.6 with 76,000 miles on it, purchased an extended warranty from Easy Care (reviews and opinions vary widely on this company), at around 95,000 my transmission needed to be replaced. Only cost me $100 deductible. This one incident more than paid for having my warranty. Having a possible driveshaft issue now, which looks like it will also be covered. Just make sure if you decide to spend the money on a warranty, that you buy one that has good coverage and will actually cover things that break. The plan from Easy care that I purchased is called Primary Care, great plan, but it does not cover electronics. I believe the Total Care plan covers electronics and it may be a good idea to have that coverage as the cost of electronic components on the Genesis can be rather pricey. Good luck and hope you enjoy your car.

Yes, I recommend getting one. I've always got my money's worth from them. And with the electronics these cars have, I consider it good insurance.
