Hey team.
Hoping someone may be able to assist on my last ditch effort.
I have a 2013 Genesis R-spec sedan, bought it 3 years ago used with about 50k on it.
I drove it off the lot, went to a gas station, and when I got back into my car my dash told me, both with an annoying 3 beeps and an image on the console, that there was an issue with the backup sensors.
Took it back to the dealership and told my sales guy, they took the car, said he "cleaned off the sensor" and then it didn't do it again for like 6 months.
Fast forward to now, it does it almost every time I turn the car on.
For a while I was able to go to the rear bumper and just lightly rap my hand on each sensor, turn the car on, and no sound or noise was made and no image in the dash.
Now, definitely not the case.
Per the usual, my extended warranty just happens to NOT cover the rear sensors so the dealer quoted me $880 for two new sensors and replacement with no guarantee it will work since there are 4 total sensors.
I have one sensor in particular, the far left one, that looks like it is slightly off shape in the bumper itself, like instead of being flush with the rear bumper, one side of it is a butt hair pushed in (or pushed out depending on your perspective).
My ask here is, does anyone know how to resolve this concern?
I'm able to reach the far left and right sensors from under the car, I can feel the wiring and how the sensor is secured to the bumper, and I would be so down to cut the wires off that sensor if it resolved my issue.
Obviously I don't think that is the solution, but I'm open to it.
My car has 85k miles and I am going to sell it in about 10k more, wanting to get a G80 Ultimate, but not only do I not want the next owner to have this issue, but for my own sanity on the next 10k I'm looking to resolve this once and for all.
Anyone got anything for me?
If so, much appreciated!
