What are the best tires for quiet first & performance second? And then performance first and quiet second ? I am also thinking about putting slightly larger tires on the back. Thanks

I just installed some Pirelli P7 Cinturato Plus All-Season 245/45/19 tires. They ride nice and handle well but the OEM Contis are quieter. I would just get those again.

Both have very high rating in performance and road and noise comfort.

I have the DW's and they are truly an excellent performer, but they have become VERY loud now. They started off being the quietest and most comfortable tire I've yet experienced. I'm at about 50% wear and I'm not sure if I just got a bad set or what??

Either way, my next tires will be the Michelin Pilot SS.

Michelin does not currently manufacture tires fitting the R-Spec's specifications (P 235/45 R19). What size Michelin Pilot SS suits the R-Spec best?

The R Spec with the optional Hyundai installed Summer tire package ($1,200 in 2012) has a 245 45 19 tire, which is what I'm running.

Agreed...I bought some Super Sports for my last car and they were absolutely the BEST tire I've ever owned. They have excellent wet and dry grip, stable cornering characteristics, super quiet, braking was improved too. The best.

And I had some Continental DWS' on my Audi A8, that was an awesome combination, especially if you have to drive in the snow during the winter.

Please note that summer tires are being compared to all-season tires. Michelin PSS are amazing. Great performance and stellar ride quality for summer tires. But will have shorter lifespan than all-seasons and be useless in the snow. I figured this should be brought to attention because you have NJ in your location.

Good point, but I drove my Michelins in som light snow and they were fine. Not great, but much better than I expected.

I'm currently running Firestone Firehawk wide ovals A/S and they are ok in the winter. They're fairly quiet at least. When these wear out I'll get back into Conti DWS as they were the best all season tire I ever had.

2015 comes with a staggered tires, so no - they will not fit "our rspec's", our rims are 8 inches width....your best option to upgrade is 245/45/19 (with speedo error ~-1.28%) or ...240/40/19 (with speedo error ~2.28%) ...or stay within factory specs.
Unless you have wider aftermarket rims

I just put 245/45/19 Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus on mine when I finally finished the stock tires at about 40K miles. I have been very happy with them putting ride and noise ahead of performance.

Guys I am looking for some advice, I have 2 2013 rspecs & bolts of them will need tires soon. I am moving from Florida to South Carolina . So snow etc won't be an issue for me. I love a quiet tire & I will pay up some $ within reason. I want the biggest & best tire without altering the speedo maybe a staggered setup.

For Tommy, 245 is as wide as you can go on the stock '13 rims. Now if you change rims, you can go wider on the rear, up to a 275 with the right offset. May be able to do a 255 on the front with the right offset. I know there are several other members who have a staggered set up on their cars and have posted up what they did so take a look at those threads. As far as a '15 rim fitting the '13, depends on the offset of the rims which I do not know.

I know it was an option...maybe they re-calibrated speedo?

What's really interesting about the option is that it is/was not installed at the Hyundai factory but rather at the port of entry. Not even at the dealership. So if I didn't want the option, would they have changed the tires?

So not sure if they would do the recal there or not since it's just a inspection/clean up company. GAP is the one who does it here at the port of entry on the west coast.

my speedo was off about 3 mph with the 235 50 18 factory wheel/tire. When I put on the R Spec 19" wheels and the 245 45 19 tires my speed is now only 1 mph off. This is all compared to what the cars GPS speed shows.
