  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I have a 2013 3.8 ltr sedan. After changing the front brakes and rotors, the driver side now screeches metal on metal almost all the time when braking. I have checked the braking system twice and all is in good order. Only happens on the driver's side. On the underside of the spring clip for the brake pads, I did notice some contact marks. Is it possible that due to the design of the aftermarket spring clip which comes with new pads that under pressure of braking, that it is touching the outer edge of the rotor?? doesn't seem to happen when the car is on the lift and there is no weight on the suspension... Anyone else experiencing this problem

all is in good order.

I fear for your sake that it's not. Noise is bad. Loud grinding metal noise from brakes is very bad.

Make sure you don't have the pads (or clips) reversed, make sure shims are located on the correct pads. This is surprisingly easy to do on the 2007 Santa Fe's front brakes (ask me how I know). Make sure the wear indicator (screecher) is not bent out of position. Also check that you got the correct parts, and nothing is stuck between the caliper or dust guard and disc (little rocks will make a lot of noise too).

the first of all you need to check the caliper guide pin is stuck or not.
2, apply anti-squeel paste to brake caliper.

you can search youtube "caliper guide pin", "brake anti squeel paste"
