Hi; Does anyone have a 2014 Equus, If so are you having any problems with the navigation? My problem Is that I select 'menu' and try to go to the traffic menu It Is grayed out And I can not access It. My car had been In the shop for 18 days so far and they have no Idea how to fix It. My XM Is active and I have nav traffic active, but I don't think that has any thing to do with the problem. Thanks

Have they tried replacing the unit?

Hi; Yes, they put In a brand new unit yesterday, still same problem. They don't know what activates the traffic sub menu, they called Hyundai, and they don't know.. Do you know of anyone with a 2014 Equus

thanks

Hi; According to the OM you should be able to go to 'traffic' then to a sub-menu and select what you what to see on navigation, such as accidents, construction, Incidents, etc, etc. There are about 8 choices. Mine worked for about 5 mins. and now I can not access the traffic menu. This Is NOT the same as XM NAVTRAFFIC which you have to pay for. They have changed out the head unit and still the same problem. Nobody knows why. I think that ALL the units have a software problem and Hyundai does not want anyone to know, otherwise they will have a large recall. This Is a $65000 plus car and these Items should work... Also, on all 2014 Equus vehicles made before 6/24/13 the daytime running lights don't work, as of 6/24 all the Equus's have daytime running lights. They had a problem and corrected It, but will not tell the dealer's service dept. how to do the fix on the other vehicles. Just look at your door panel for the date If before 6/24 you do not have daytime running lights. anyway, we need to pass this around to all 2014 Equus owners to see If all have the problem. so far I have found 2 others with the same problem..

If it is a software problem, then it shouldn't be a big deal to update the software on everyone's Equus. There are not that many of them and they don't have to replace the hardware. I doubt that Hyundai has complete control over this, as they probably have a supplier who gives them the entire Nav and Entertainment hardware/software system, so Hyundai will have to wait until the supplier comes up with a fix (assuming it is actually broken). But it sounds like that it is not really a critical function that is missing.

Regarding DRL, it is possible that they just changed their minds mid-year and decided to enable them as of a certain build date. Doesn't necessarily mean that previous build dates without the DRL are broken (although that is possible also). In past years, for both Genesis and Equus, the decision on whether to enable DRL was sometimes made differently for each market (USA vs Canada, etc).

Hi;

Yes, I do think It Is software, but the problem Is nobody knows what controls (activates) this menu and sub-menu, There must be someone who knows how this should work, and If It Is a software problem or not. They can not find anyone who has any Idea.. Hyundai service has worked with lexicon, XM radio techs, no one knows... As I said before, It did work for about 5 mins then stopped. I'll keep everyone up to date on the problem

As for the DTL's I am having them activate them, It Is just an added module.. Wiring harness Is the same with or without DTL's.

You are only talking to people at HMA, and they probably do not have a direct link to people at Lexicon. They might eventually find someone in Korea who can deal with Lexicon. It's not exactly a problem that qualifies under the lemon law, and apparently no one else is complaining.

Hi; They did talk with Lexicon, and the tech on the phone 'IT SOULD WORK'
but they can't figure out If XM signal Is needed or not. So far I have not found 1 car that It works on, so I think It Is a software glitch. Hyundai does not want anyone to know about It until they can patch It. meanwhile I told the dealer I want the daytime running lights activated. I was told by the salesperson that the car had them, It Is only a module change. wiring harness for lighting Is the same. I also found out this problem Is only with the Lexicon units, Lexus, Nissan, and Benz do not have the problem, I checked each car at the local dealerships.. their traffic menus work fine.

How can this work without XM? The construction and accidents?
Not a big deal to me. If I'm driving/passing through Atlanta on 75, it's not like I'm going to start taking side streets if I see an accident displayed 5 miles ahead, or a construction zone.
And if it IS XM driven, I lose it in about 11 days anyway. Won't miss it when I don't renew.
DRL's are a different story. I'd like to have them instead of using parking lights instead...I think. I do like having the tail lights lit too.

Thanks for the update. I will look at my 2014 Ultimate and see if I have the same problem. One thing I have noticed is, when you hit the Home button and go XM DATA, it says "No info received" on the weather, sports, etc menus.

Side note... Does anyone know how to get the Traffic information to show on the Instrument Panel Cluster? Dont know if this is for Ultimate models only but it does allow you to choose in the menu options.

First things first... The Traffic button will be active If there Is a signal from XM-NAVTRAFFIC, you then can go to a sub-menu to select what you want to see on what type of alerts you will get. As for the Nav on the panel, not sure. I do know one thing, the HUD Is worthless If you are over 5'6" tall. Even with adjustments can not get a clear display. Looks like It was made for short persons.!! As for weather, you must pay for a subscription just like navtraffic... Good luck
