Purchased a 2014 with both headrests popped. Just finished putting the first one together and pretty happy with the result. Not an active headrest anymore but it sure beats paying the dealer $700/each for replacements. This car had been hit in the back and caused both the activate. As normal the plastic structure was broken and would no longer support/hold the springs and other hardware to make it work.
All of the springs and motor have been removed. All that is left are the 2 plastic pieces that hold all of the springs and hardware. Took me awhile to figure out how to attach it all back but it seems solid and will function as a normal headrest now. Just no longer active.
