  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Purchased a 2014 with both headrests popped. Just finished putting the first one together and pretty happy with the result. Not an active headrest anymore but it sure beats paying the dealer $700/each for replacements. This car had been hit in the back and caused both the activate. As normal the plastic structure was broken and would no longer support/hold the springs and other hardware to make it work.

All of the springs and motor have been removed. All that is left are the 2 plastic pieces that hold all of the springs and hardware. Took me awhile to figure out how to attach it all back but it seems solid and will function as a normal headrest now. Just no longer active.

Nice job. Hopefully you won't need the benefits of whiplash protection the headrests can provide.

The way I look at it my other cars haven't had that feature and I haven't had the need for it so far and I'm 65. So the odds are in my favor

i just did the same thing. look great.

Did you guys cut the springs out. Or how did you remove them…. I can’t get enough force to compress it back

The plastic parts that hold the whole assembly r probably broken thus u cannot lock it back together That is why I gutted mine and got them locked back together but they r non functional Works for me

I have 2 more to do as my 2013 Genesis sedan got rear ended. Will post a better thread on how I got mine done. They are not glued as most are doing here

How did you remove the headrest?

Can anyone help me to learn how to remove the headrest? My daughter climbed over from the backseat and deployed the passenger headrest and I can't get it out to try and force it back together. TIA

Just use the power button to praise it up. You should be able to pull it out once you push the seat back to decline it and provide sone clearance….
