  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This was just posted on Autospies. It is the 2014 Genesis Concept Car. (looks damn production to me)

no way are they gonna put that "h" on the grill. either way, i don't like what little i see. kinda looks like a cross between an azera and sonata. looks like i'll be keeping my 09 for a while.

NOOOOOO! i hope that's not the 2014.......its fugly!

I say Sonata. Don't be fooled by the Genny-esque wheels. The twin hood lines and grille are 100% Sonata.

Probably concept art, because if the hood is really that narrow it's going to make access to the lights and rest of the front side areas a real bitch.

looks identical to the "concept Genesis" before the Genesis was released for sale.

I agree, that looks like an early 2008 or 2007 concept photo that I remember.

Some wise guy took the concept and Acura'd the headlights a little (or maybe not, looks almost identical to the concept from 5 years ago).

I'm glad that hideous front end never made it to production.... and the rear too. Way too "BMW-7-Series-at-the-time" for me.

My guess is the next-gen will take some cues from this - hopefully not that hood "crease" though. I can't stand that.

Totally agree with you on this Ruissimo, I don't like the concept vehicles front/rear nor the lines through the hood. While a refresh of the design is welcome I'm truly hoping they don't make a radical departure from how it is now (and for the love of god I truly hope it doesn't turn into a super sized Azera lol).

The new Quad LED headlights I see on the Prada Edition seem to be coming to the 2013's as another "refresh" along with Blue Link. I don't know what to think about LED's for headlights in comparison to HID, to me it would seem the light output would be even less. Everything I have read so far on HID vs. LED shows that HID is still a better choice for putting out the most light to the road.

Here's a thought: Keep the LEDs and give us a fully adjustable cooled passenger seat, front sets with better support, A2DP, improved nav, refined transmission programming, paddle shifters....

You know. The stuff owners/customers have asked for.

Totally agree! I wouldn’t be opposed to some bright LED DRL’s (like Audi, Mercs, & even Kia’s these days).

And how about actual tire pressure monitors and heads up display. It seems crazy to me that I can’t monitor my tire pressure without getting out and doing it the old fashion way. Even my old truck had this capability (and that came standard).

With all that said, I still LOVE my Genny!!! :D

This.

+10 on cooled passenger seat.

I hope they don't decided to "bathtub-ize" by steeply raking the windshield...

What is A2DP? I think I've seen word that the next gen will offer AWD as well. I too want a cooled passenger seat. I live in Texas, for goodness sakes.

Specifically addressing the styling, I dunno folks; aside from the H on the grill, I rather like it! I like how the front headlight looks like it's peering through.

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)

This profile defines how high quality audio (stereo or mono) can be streamed from one device to another over a Bluetooth connection. For example, music can be streamed from a mobile phone, to a wireless headset, hearing aid & cochlear implant streamer, car audio, or from a laptop/desktop to a wireless headset.

A2DP was initially used in conjunction with an intermediate Bluetooth transceiver that connects to a standard audio output jack, encodes the incoming audio to a Bluetooth-friendly format, and sends the signal wirelessly to Bluetooth headphones that decode and play the audio. Bluetooth headphones, especially the more advanced models, often come with a microphone and support for the Headset (HSP), Hands-Free (HFP) and Audio/Video Remote Control (AVRCP) profiles.

A2DP is designed to transfer a uni-directional 2-channel stereo audio stream, like music from an MP3 player, to a headset or car radio.[1] This profile relies on AVDTP and GAVDP. It includes mandatory support for the low-complexity SBC codec (not to be confused with Bluetooth's voice-signal codecs such as CVSDM), and supports optionally: MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, AAC, and ATRAC, and is extensible to support manufacturer-defined codecs, such as apt-X. Some Bluetooth stacks enforce the SCMS-T digital rights management (DRM) scheme. In these cases, it is impossible to connect certain A2DP headphones for high quality audio.
