  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Have owned my 2015 for about 2 years now, and recently the head unit has started to act flaky once in awhile... oftentimes any symptom will go away once i restart the car. however most recently these 2 symptoms have persisted and am looking for thoughts on what the issue might be:
1) Traffic doesnt show on the map/nav screen despite that option being checked in the settings. when i attempt to uncheck and recheck it - i get a generic "try later" error message
2) every time i start the car - the car plays the message that it needs to sync contacts (which it does succesfully). But it rarely ever did so in the past.

i do have an extended warranty on the car thru Hyundai and am thinking of taking it in to have them look at it.
Thought i'd start here to see if anyone else has thoughts on this before i do. Thanks in advance!

Traffic data needs XM subscription if I remember right. For the phone I ended up doing a factory reset on my phone after android 8 update and that contact sync stopped. It now behaves correctly where if I did have a new contact it would sync, if not it wouldn't. Also I'm wondering if you use corp email and have the GAL sync'd then it might be syncing cause there are changes.

I don't have a subscription to XM, but I am getting traffic alerts. Keep in mind I bought the car used a couple weeks ago, so maybe my traffic alerts will go away?

Could be the previous owner moved his subscription but did not move the traffic. If you are interested in XM you can get a trial. Even if you don't subscribe, from August 30 to Sept 10 anyone can listen.

I got a letter from XM yesterday asking if I was enjoying my free 3 months. The day I was driving and got the traffic info, XM only had 1 station asking me to subscribe so I'll have to check it out again to see if it's really on.

Bad head units seem somewhat higher-than-average with the '15 model year. I and many others have had them replaced. It was so bad for a while that Hyundai ran out of replacement units (so says my service department and a few other forum members).
