2015 3.8L Sedan Head Bolts Stripped from Block

Hey all,
I have a 2015 Genesis with 3.8L Engine. Brought it to Dealer for Head Gasket issue and turns out the issue is known by mechanics. The bolts strip out from block, and requires total engine replacement. Hyundai does not have a service bulliten on this but happens enough the mechanics check this first. I cant afford a new engine at $7000+. Anyone have any solutions and not original owner so dealer is not looking at warranty. Need some help PLEASE!!

I am not sure if what Porsche did back in the 70s for 911s will work, but you may wish to consider.That is, the studs that held the piston jugs and heads to the block in 2.7L boxer engine would strip. Porsche solved this with inserts that were threaded into the block, those inserts being of greater diameter than the original studs so that the holes could be tapped and rethreaded,and then used new studs in the imserts. I believe this was an issue circa 1976-1977.Check Rennlist for more information.

I am trying to see if that is an option from the dealer. I am wondering if the block is aluminum and if that matters..

Yes the Block is aluminum. You could ask if they can heli coil the threads and if not then you will need a new short block or used engine
