  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Howdy My Genesis has been sitting at the local dealer since 8/1/2015 waiting for a electronic component (likely chip)
that's covered under the warranty. The car will not operate without this chip.
Dealer says they can't give me a shipping date on the part.

In addition I have established a "case number" with Hyundai but can not reach them for updates. (800 633 5151)
case manager is never avaible and the mail box is full.

Any suggestions ? Also thinking about asking Hyundai to extend my warranty an additional 6months-1 year because
my Genesis is not avaiable.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome
Thanks!!

The car is at the dealer for 6 years? Since 8.1.2015? Or is that a typo and it's since 8.1.2021? Also Can you find out what chip is needed? a part#?

Would you accept a used chip? I wonder if one would be available from a junk yard, at least to get you back in service until the chip arrives.

Just a guess the case manager is overwhelmed at this point. I don't think you are out of line to ask for a warranty extension.

Agreed. Ask for a 10 year 100,000 mile Platinum Service contract.

Another way to contact support is through Facebook. Hyundai/Genesis is particularly sensitive to messages left there, as the public can read them.

Glad to see they are replacing it. Trying to repair a transmission outside of a factory refurbishment is questionable.
