Hyundai replaced all four tires on this vehicle with Continental ProContact tires. My wife got a cut in the front drivers side tire and I took it to my local repair shop to replace the tire with the same one Hyundai had used. When they removed the damaged tire they found a circle of foam up against the inside up against the tire tread. I called the dealer to find out what this was for and was told it is sound deadening material. Questions: do I need this? If so, where do I get it? Is it expensive? Was this what the "noise" complaint was all about from the beginning? It sounds a little peculiar to me! I never had a complaint about noise in the first place. FLASH!! My repair shop just called. This tire on the side wall next to "CONTI" has the word "silent" and it is a whole different tire. While the size is 245/40/R19, this "silent" costs $424.00 installed as opposed to $326 installed! Gentlemen: Has noone else come up with this information???
