  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

the struts in my 2015 5.0 sedan are sagging and caused crazy tire wear. Not sure if i should spend the $1700 to buy the oem electric dampening struts or if oem NON Electronic dampening struts are likely to perform similar in day to day driving . car is only at 101k and ive only put 3k miles on it.

Sagging would be the springs, not the shocks.

Replacing with standard struts is the smart move. You'll lose the Sport mode setting, but the ride will be fine and you'll save a lot of money. Your worn electronic ones are what caused the tire wear, so any new set will fix that.
Just get a quality standard set and have a shop install them. It's a common conversion for these cars.

That's what I would have thought but the shop is saying struts are what's bad. How would I know for sure if the springs specifically are bad aside from buying and installing new springs. Definitely don't want to throw away good struts if it's just the springs. I don't get a harsh ride or oscillation after bumps so it feels like the struts are fine while driving so it could just be the springs.

Shocks don't hold the car up (they just slow down movement). Springs hold the car up.
