  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

First time here, hello
I've never been happy with the ride of my 2015 5.0, it's time for tires and I'm hoping this will be a chance to improve it. I understand that the OE called for a staggered set of tires. I would welcome all suggestions for the best tire to put on this time- everything is stock I have not modified rims or anything else.

Which tires are being taken off?

You need to realize that you are going to get several answers to that question . I my self am keeping the Conti Extreme Contact. 15 5.0 Ultimate 36k

Well I was curious which tires he had on because the original 2015 Genesis came with Hankook's which had a flatspotting issue. Those tires were recalled and replaced with Continental ProContact TX if I remember correctly. I wanted to know if he was disappointed with the ride of the Continentals or the original Hankooks.

Go with the DWS-06. Great tire but soft sidewalls so higher chance of blowout. I'm currently on Michelin A/S 3+ which has stiffer sidewalls. It's a bumpier ride and they're also loud compared to the DWS-06.

Oh yeah I get it Aquineas, I had asked the question to the op. If I am not mistaken the extreme contacts have a slightly higher weight rating than. The pro contacts. I am very happy with the extreme contacts. Using the flatstoppers helped tremendously, its a pain in the but sometimes to park on them . But its worth the little extra work.

No one here knows what is best for you. We don't know if you are in Alaska, the Sahara, drive highways a lot. only go to the grocery store on Tuesday mornings, dirt roads.

Well personally, I commute from the Sahara to Alaska (I use the tolls; it's faster), and I never go to the grocery store because too many women try to pick me up there. Tuesdays are my days to go to Big Lots, preferring to drive on dirt roads, of course.

Aquineas, I think these would be best suited for your needs.

Bridgestone RE970AS's - Would get another set, but they've been replaced by RE980AS's.
gotcha! I am kind of liking the Conti Extreme Contacts, they just seem right for for me. They change some when it drops to 20deg. But she dont see too many of those low temp days on the road. Thanks Skipgen!🙂

Tire Rack raved about those Vredesteins - they beat out some heavy hitters.

Thanks, i could not find the staggered Cont that were the spec, so I bought Hankook; they are great for aggressive driving, but suck any other time. Loud, pick up any rough road surfaces, maybe 25% wear but i can't wait to get them off. I'll look at the DWS-06, and Vredesteins.

From my experience with Hankook , watch out for sidewall failure...

I thought about the EVO 12's, but that's an "old" tire that's been around for a while - I've heard good & bad about em.
