If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. 2015 5.0 Need New Tires

I just swapped from A/S 3+ to DWS06 285/35ZR19 on the rear and couldn't be happier. I hadn't realized how bad the tread drone was until I didn't have it any more. Definitely more of a comfort tire though, sidewall is incredibly soft compared to the Michelins.
What are you using for the front tires? Michelins A/S 3+? I hope not because you got my OCD flaring about using the same set of tires on all four wheels. I know that using different brand of tires as pairs on different axles can be done, but man I would not recommend running mismatched tires.

They’ll match as soon as I get them a little closer to the wear bars 😂

Reminds me of my wife's car. Had 12K miles on the car, a squared up setup, tires were good. Got a bolt stuck inside the sidewall on the RR, it could not be repaired. Had to replace the tire - but didn't want uneven tread wear on the same axle, so bought two. But then didn't want two new ones and two old ones, so I bought four. Darn expensive flat repair!

What? LOL. They will still be mismatch tire treads. But hey do you.

I would only change tires in pairs on the same axle in a situation like that. Unless, all four tires are worn. Then I would just get some tread credit and swapped them all out at the same time.

My concern is that different brands of tires are being used with different tread patterns, not how worn the tires are in relation to each other.

The 285/35ZR19 work without rubbing or scuffing the body?

Hah, there's already a mismatch in the tread since the tires run on different tread classes anyway, being 255 vs 285.

285/35ZR19 clears with plenty of room to spare. This only works on the staggered rear wheels though, as the wheel width only supports up to 285 at max. Front wheels are limited to 255/40ZR19

What????:ROFLMAO:

Treads don't match between 255 and 285 on the AS/3+. 285 adds one or two ribs between the shoulders and narrows the spacing between all of them.

I understand your point, however the tread patterns of the AS/3 and DWS06 are not even close in design. Yet, if you are fine with running mismatch tires then I will leave it be.

The DWS are great handling tires though. I had the older version on my old 2006 Infinti M35 and it handled icy roads in Atlanta very well with minimum slippage. Great tires as well.

Thats good to know. My rears are going to need replacement soon, I would like to step up a size. Thanks for the info..👍

We considered that as well, but the tread was half worn on all four, and if rotated, would put the most worn pair on the rear which isn't recommended as the back end can "step out" on a wet corner, so the tire guy said. Wife wasn't having that! Since they were original tires, I would have to go through the dealer to prorate them, didn't want to deal with that. Plus, they had a nice rebate if you buy all four.

But yeah, if it was my driver-car I would have only replaced the two, and put the new ones on the axle that got the most wear, and leave them in that spot until the tread wear matched on all four.

Edit: spelling

Would you be keeping the same wheels? I guess you can put different width/size tires on the same wheel, but it can affect revolutions per mile and possibly fender rub.

The front wheels are 8.5" wide, rear wheels are 9" wide. If mine were staggered, I'd work toward getting a squared up set. I'd go with the largest the front can support, and match that on the rear. My base model is squared and drives great. I get that more power from the 3.3t or 5.0 can benefit, but I rarely push the limits - especially in cornering.

Discount Tire stores prorate my used tires regardless of where I bought them. I usually get decent credit for tires that have some life left when I swap them out.

That makes sense. I was thinking about that when U first purchased the car. I am going to be putting the car up for the winter, so I have plenty of time to decide. I like the stock look, and might step down to 18 and try them out.
