2015 5.0 sedan exhaust tips

Has anyone tried to replace 3.8 exhaust tips with 5.0 sedan exhaust tips? If so who sells replacement tips?

I would guess it not just a tip change. I think you'd have to change the muffler assembly.

Looks like it might be integral to the bumper cover? Admittedly did not look very closely, could be wrong.

I think it's part of the rear fascia on the bumper. I'd say it's doable

One of the accessory sites that was mentioned in recent weeks sells them. I forget which one it is though.

My guess it is a part that goes into the rear bumper. There may need to be a change on the exhaust system as well, I am not sure.

i think u need to change whole bumper. the cut outs of the bumper are not the same as the 3.8. its all cosmetics. not as simple ss just changing out the exhaust tips

The bumper covers are definitely different - the opening for the dual tips is wider- you can see that with the 3.8 vs. 5.0 rear shots on this page:

There might be some other differences under the bumper cover too?

Bumping an old thread to see of anyone swapped quad tips on the 3.8

Part numbers show the only difference are the tips and "lower cover"

15 86612-B1100 Lower Cover
16 86662-B1100 Insert Panel
16 86661-B1100 Insert Panel

The only caveat I could see is if the exhaust outlets into the tips are different...IE: dual exit vs single exit. Anyone with a 5.0 able to check that out?

I changed the stock exhaust tips to quads on my 3.8 Genesis Coupe using aftermarket tips that cost about $30.

If I had purchased rather than leased my sedan, I would have done this mod, but as it is I can't give you a definitive answer.

However, I'm fairly certain you should be able to find aftermarket quad tips on Amazon or Ebay that will fit the opening in the bumper cover of the 3.8.

so it doesnt look doable sorry dude look up a rear bumper 5.0 genesis and you can see the assembly its two different exhaust tips which implies for some reason the genesis 5.0 exhaust is a dual exhaust exit from factory then those tips go into the rear bumper tips. im sorry trying to mod a g80 is really freaking hard

Cut out the tips, weld on some real exhaust tips... keep in mind that GDI engines spit out a lot of soot and you'll be cleaning the bumper a lot. It's the main reason a lot of cars have fake tips these days. Some cars have their real exhaust tips pointing at the ground.
