  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I returned to the airport from a trip like i do every week, and when I opened my car, I looked at the back of the passenger seat and see this. Anyone else had this happen?

It was just hanging. The connectors appear to be broken that secure it to back of the seat. The car was locked, and nobody opened it. I don't carry back seat passengers, and I am the only one that drives the car.

I leased the car in Jan as a dealer demo with 5000 mi on it. It has 11k on it now.
I would hope this is covered under warranty as I did not break it.
What do you guys think they will say? I have to take it in for an oil change next week anyways.

Even if you can't take it in to the dealer right now, I would call them and let them know when it happened. I can't imagine how it would not be a warranty repair.

Probably the Tampa heat, with the greenhouse effect of a parked car in the sun with windows closed, melted some glue or weakened a plastic part. That's why we hear about kids and dogs who die inside a parked car when they are left inside a car for just an hour or two.

Had that happen with a 2014 Avalon that was a month old. Turned out there was bulletin out on the defective connectors.

Never buy a dealer's demo, or "manager's special", or whatever they're calling them nowadays.

I made that mistake about 40 years ago - somebody had a dog - I spent six months cleaning the dog hair out.

It is either parked in the Tampa airport long term garage or my garage at home. Not sure how it was treated before i got it. Build date was aug 2014.

I didnt buy it, leased it. It is going back in 2.5 years so i can get another toy. I was able to get a v8 ultimate for $500/mo with nothing down because it had a few miles on it so I wasnt gonna complain

Most likely this is an easy warranty repair.

Stopped in to a different dealer than my normal one today.
They were able to get the parts ordered under warranty, change the oil and get me out the door in under 45 min with no appointment on a Saturday afternoon.

My normal dealer took 3+hrs the last time for an oil change WITH an appointment on a sat.

Looks like I will have a new dealer from now on

Before the writer had the door opened all the way, he said this will definitely be warranty. He said he saw it before on other cars.
