  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New to the site, due to lack of all info on these vehicles trying to help as much as possible and learn as much as possible. I have a 2015 5.0l Ultimate that i plan to add intake, wheels and tires, may do some modifications to tail lights and headlights as well. heres a sound clip of my rear mufflers cut out with a straight pipe welded in place. Plan to cut the resonator out at some point so i can get it to pop some when letting off the gas

Sounds good! This is what my 4.6 sounds like with muffler delete, resonator delete and X pipe.

I want to do this to my car ,but will this void the warranty. Some say yes some say no. Should I just ask the dealership. They also say that it will not pass a safety check. What can I do just to add a bit more sound. 2015 Ultimate

Oh God no!!!! Sound cool ,but it does not fit the car at all. It sound like an Honda Accord V6 mixed with small block V8, raspy with a bit of a rumble. Sporty yes, but it just do not fit the Genesis overall image and style. If you drove by me with that set-up I would be like WTF. A luxury car sounding like a cheaply modded pony-car like a Camaro with no mufflers. No No No.:)

The exhaust sound is perfect for this car. Very mellow, deep, and throaty. The resonators are doing a good job without the mufflers to keep the exhaust tone sounding more aggressive without sounding trashy.

I’ve been experimenting with my exhaust.
Started with muffler delete. Too much drone
Added Magnaflow xl3 mufflers. Helped slightly with the overall sound. Still major drone.
Today having the resonator replaced with an x pipe and I’m adding vibrant resonators in between x pipe and Magnaflow. I’ll post results later. Got the idea from a post from 84FordMan
I left the cats alone. I have a 2015 5.0 sedan

Added the x pipe and vibrant resonators. Major decrease in overall sound I’d say %75 less drone as well it’s now louder than stock but sounds very similar. Somewhere between stock and muffler delete closer to the stock side. The loudest notacible exhaust tone it’s created around 1750 rpms and can be avoided by shifting early/late.hard to avoid that rpm range leaving a red light behind someone or going through back to back stop signs.
Overall I’d say I’m relatively happy with the outcome. I can see how some of the gray haired genny drivers might prefer to leave it stock but I just wanted a little more out of the cars exhaust system so I can actually hear the shifts. If I did it all I’ve i may have went with cutouts before the stock resonator h pipe. Instead I settled for a middle ground between too loud and too quiet.

Seem like a great sounding setup. Can you post some pics and a sound clips?

I actually have considered just going with motorized exhaust cutouts that can be activated manually in the cabin by the press of a button. I like how some the of the custom shops on the MT channel use the motorized cutouts. I will ask around to how much it would cost to do motorized cut-ours on my Genesis at some of the local exhaust shops.

I'm going for a deep v8 rumble with no drone. Not too loud, and definitely more bass than treble. I thought the Magnaflow exhaust sounded pretty good, but I'm not paying $1300+ for it. I ordered a Magnaflow resonated x-pipe and 2 Magnaflow straight through mufflers. I will let the shop use their own 2.5 inch piping. I believe the stock piping is 2.25 inches. Hoping to have it installed this weekend. I'll post a clip when its done.

Also, are you guys deleting the secondary cats?

Also, Also, is there a way to replace/remove the stock exhaust tips, or are they permanently integrated to the back bumper?

I'd love to hear the finished product, as well as whether it was successful at helping you accomplish the good sound without drone.

Here's what I have so far. Definitely the sound I was looking for. I will get a cold start in the morning.

Here is a cold start.
