  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was super close to buying a 3.8 AWD ultimate until I drove a (not loaded) 2015 Chrysler 300 AWD (platinums just starting to be built). It looks like Chrysler is really incentivize purchase and/or lease.

Why shouldn't I buy a 300 if it is cheaper? I know I can get HUD in a Genesis but I can get better subwoofer and sound in 300 and (yes) fog lights.

I have driven both and I will tell u the Chrysler appears to have more torque.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Because the reliability sucks

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The subwoofer in a new Aston Martin doesn't move as much air as the one in a new Corvette, but given the choice, I'll take the Aston.
How easy it is [these days] for people to forget that the subwoofer determines the better car  Sarcasm aside, ones personal choice matters little. Life's short - buy what you like :D

:)I have to agree on the reliability issue. Owner reports via Truedelta for 2011-2013 reflect fewer repairs for the Genesis, the sample size for subsequent years were too small except for the 300. I never had my 2012 in for any repairs and after 6 weeks my 2015 has never needed a repair.

If you like the Chrysler 300, go for the Chrysler 300! I've never been a Chrysler 300 person, but I do think it looks good in brown.

poor reliability and very old body style which started with 2005 model year

The shine will last longer then the reliability.

There is another thread on here about Hyundai engines need turbos. Look at the list on consumer reports and see how the best and worst are the same only the one with the turbo is the least reliable. Mac

I actually like the Chrysler 300 and even owned a 2007 years ago. But I'd prefer the Genesis unless there was a major discount on the 300. Then I'd at least consider it...

speaking from past experience chrysler customer service is horrible

Believe me, I know it. Been there, done that...

I haven't had to do a repair on my '06 Sonata since I bought it almost ten years ago.

One of the main reasons, I added the Genesis to my collection.

Never had a Chrysler and don't plan on it. But that 300 has a "gangsta" look to it and the styling is old as dirt.
If the Chrysler 200 had a decent reliability record and a little more get up 'n go, I'd consider it, but, the reliability of it is like most Chrysler's...... pitiful. No Chrysler products in my future. They've never made a very reliable car and bring no where near book value in this part of the country.

+1

I've always had a soft spot for the 300. I think the gangsta styling has aged better than most cars and still looks distinctive. I considered it before I bought my Genesis, but they didn't have any available at the time. I thought about waiting, but I'd looked at enough cars and had pretty much decided on the Genesis. I didn't think seeing the new 300 in person would change that.

I had a 2000 Chrysler 300M. Bought it new in January 2000. It was one of the best cars I've ever owned and I was looking forward to the next generation 300, which was to be the 300N.

But, when Mercedes got a hold of Chrysler it seemed like they took a couple of really nice Chrysler designs (the 300N and Pacifica) and modified them a bit for new Mercedes vehicles while making the 300 the boxy "gangsta" design that still exists today.

That really disappointed me. I drove the 300M for over 7 years worth of trouble-free use and was looking forward to the 300N which had a lot nicer appearance than the 300C.

I seem to be in the small group that find the exterior design of the 300C quite nice. The interior of this latest generation is good enough for me but I'd much rather have the Genesis.
