2015 Fuel Door Release

Sometimes I need to push the button in the drivers door multiple times before the fuel filler door will release. I'm afraid that one day it won't release when I need it. I looked in the trunk for an emergency pull but can't find one. Is there one and if not what are my options if it won't open?

I have a 2015 3.8

There is one in the trunk on the left inner wall.
 
If anyone has a photo of it, I would love to see it. I have searched and come up empty
