  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

(the "radiator fan" comment was towards a whooshing noise that you can hear at the end)

I've been ripping my hair out over this since yesterday. Went to go to the grocery store and lo and behold, car won't start for the first time since we've had it. I've scoured these forums and decided it's very likely the battery (still the original, 9 years going, very not good) or the starter, but my stepdad insists its fine because he charged it. The strange thing however is the screens flashing rapidly, not just the main screen but the head unit too, which I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere. This is my mother's car but it's practically mine at this point considering I drive it about 99% of the time, and I'd hate for them to have to tow it an hour away to the closest Hyundai/Genesis dealership. Not to mention they can't even look at it until the 28th.

It's worth mentioning that my mother had this same issue days prior, but it eventually turned over and she didn't think to tell me since it was fine afterward. This leads me more to suspect that it's simply time for a battery change.

I am unfamiliar with forum etiquette in general and this is my very first post here, so please do give me any tips or a heads up on how to better acclimate here.

As expected, it was simply time for a new battery. Case closed.
