  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was rear ended last week pretty hard which pushed me into the car in front as well.

The damage was expected in the back and front of the car, but the cost to repair it was not...$15k.

My insurance(NJM) said the cost to repair exceeded the 75% threshold that my car is worth with 83,500 miles and offered me $20k to buy another car.

Super bummed because my car was super well kept, no car payment and solid.

I bought it pre-owned in 2017 with an extended 100k warranty.

Now I have to go car shopping, probably for a 2020 Genesis. Thoughts on what to avoid or to get...looking around 30-35k?

Insurance is giving me $20k for my car.

Ugh...sorry to hear. Hope you came out uninjured. How much would they have given you if you retained possession? I just went through this process on a different car. I kept possession because the difference was only $1000 and the value of keeping it was way more than that.
