  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have 2015 Genesis 5.0 Ultimate Package and the headlights and internal dash lights are flickering off and on. This is not a constant problem. This happens randomly when I use my turn signal and has also happened when my turn signal was not used. In addition, the left DRL has gone out. I am making an appointment today.

34,600 - Purchased at Miles

Recap:

I have a 2012 Ultimate so I'm not sure the problem is the same but I was experiencing the headlights cutting off intermittently and did some research that indicated it was a faulty light switch and I needed to replace the stalk unit. I did so out of warranty and that solved the problem. Since your vehicle is still in warranty I suggest going to the dealer to have it troubleshot and replaced if it is the same issue.

The problem was never even looked at when I took the vehicle to the dealer back in Nov. As of today March 6, 2018, things appears to be getting worse.

1. Headlights still randomly flickers on and off when engaging turn signal
2. Daytime Running Lights (DRL) randomly goes out. Either both are working or the left goes out for a few days, then left comes on and the right goes out for a few days
3. Turn Signal not working when engaged. I get a fast blinking on the dash. First it happened the right front turn signal. After a few days the right magically started working but the now the left front signal is fast blinking.
4. Engaged the turn signal and the Dash showed the lights rapidly flickering/changing from AUTO to DRL OFF. This has happened two times.

I have the same issue, it comes and goes. I escalated to Hyundai corporate, and dealership is aware, the only problem is they can't reproduce it while they have it.

From the other post, it seems it was resolved by changing the light control switch. I'm willing to buy one and install it myself at this point.

It's an easy fix. They have to replace the turn signal stalk. It's a new part #.
If the dealer will simply confirm your issue, they can swap the stalk. That's what my dealer did. Make your dealer do that.

I'll try, tanks for the tip.

Has happened to me. See this video: https://youtu.be/WyaMrUDMtQg

Dealer replaced the stalk and it went away. I ended up replacing the stalk again when I added fog lights to my 2015. If you are interested, I still have the almost brand new stalk if the dealer won't do anything for you.
