  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I just got my genny not to long ago with only 29k miles on it, it rides really well and I have absolutely no complaints about anything at all until recently it started doing this weird thing when idling sometimes. Sometimes I’ll be sitting in my car having it idle and then I’ll just feel a random shake in the engine and the check engine light will come on.
I took it to the dealership I bought it at (infinit) they said that they couldn’t find anything wrong on the diagnostics but it could be something with the throttle body? It just did it again for the second time so I’m planning on bringing it on in to a Hyundai dealership and seeing what they think it is. Anybody have an experience with this issue? The car runs completely fine, it only has that shake for a couple seconds when idling and then it stops and the engine will turn on but I’m still able to drive the car just fine afterwards and nothing sounds or feels out of place. Please help!

If the light came on, there may be a code that will show. Happened to me once when I had a bad ignition coil. Rough running for a few seconds, check engine light came on, then went off shortly after. Hyundai was able to find out the code and replaced the coil under warranty. Are you still covered under the original 5yr/60k Hyundai warranty? Mileage wise you're good, but will depend on your vehicle's in-service date.

I’m trying to figure that out
Waiting for a service rep to get back to me

Check for cylinders misfires
Check for intake valves with heavy carbon deposits
Check spark plugs or injection system
Check fuel system

Good luck

My car use to do that. I was only using 87 octane back then. I now only use 93 octane and that shaking disappeared.
