  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

TL/DR: my Genesis is having issues where when I shift out of park I get BSD, traction control errors, and goes into brief limp mode. LED tailights intermittently flickering when car is running. See video above.

EDIT: I just noticed driving home that my taillights are still flickering and they are constantly at maximum brightness as if I was braking. (including window light bar)

I just got in my car today when I went to shift into drive when I got a BSD error, traction control automatically switched off, and the car went into limp mode for about 5 seconds before reverting back to normal. Also my tailights were flickering (yes the LEDs) earlier.

The kicker is this isnt the first this happened. The first time I panicked when the car refused to move at all, but everything seemed to just fix it self after about a half hour and has been fine ever since. Thats going back about a year now.

I’m just looking for a definite answer and any recommended course of action since the issue just seems to be perpetually dormant.

My 15 does the same thing occasionally. Not sure about the tail lights.
When it happens I turn it off and restart to clear it,
I find the problem doesn't happen if you gently shift to drive.
I suspect an issue around the column shifter or neutral/park switch on the side of the tranny.
Seems directly related to shifting from reverse to drive.
No time to take it in as its very infrequent for me.

This started happening yesterday -after about driving a quarter mile - BSD error indicator, ESC light on, Gear indicator on dash AND shifter not on - rough shifting. If I put it in park and try to shift out it's locked. If I restart, it's ok for a bit then does it again.
This starting happening after driving in a HEAVY rainstorm with a lot of water on the road, maybe lugnut high. I'm thinking it might just need to dry out, but it's cooled down here a bit and not sure if I can wait for that. I guess it's dealer bound :(

15 3.8 - just had this problem months ago. had the cable reel and park neutrel switch replaced and all is back to normal!

Had similar to Surprisingguy a few years ago, after I drove into a flooded road.
Turns out there' an ECU on the 3.8 down low behind radiator near the oil filter; just presumed that got some moisture inside the connector.
Cleared up in a few days and never recurred.

I am having the same exact issues right now, what was the solution for everyone?
