  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2015 3.8 v6 and my oil filter location is underneath the car. I'm getting mixed reviews all ove the place about what kind of oil filter will work. One site will say a certain fileter like the wix wl10033 will fir and then I will go to another site and it will say it will not or a review will say it did not work in their model. Pretty much they are saying its too short or too long. I figured I'd try a bosch or wix but before I go pick one up I wanted to get some info from this forum I just joined. Like I said my oil filter is underneath the car. I just got the car a few months ago and the dealership quoted me 140 for an oil change so I'm just going to get some full synthetic quaker state and do it myself. 7.29L . Let me know what filters actually fit if you can and any tips you can add before I try and get it done this weekend. I'd appreciate it

I found another thread that just said to get a mahl filter since that is the OEM brand. Can I go to a hyundai dealership and buy this?

Get the oem Hyundai oil filter. Around $10 or less even at a dealer.

I would just buy the OEM filter. You can even order them on Ebay for about $14 free shipping. However, the 5.0 OEM oil filters are only $11 at my local Hyundai dealership. Therefore, it maybe cheaper to just go to the dealership and pick one up since I assume the 3.8 filters price would be similar.

$140 for an oil change is crazy. I bring my own synthetic oil to the dealer (two 5 quart jugs) and the dealer charges $16 for OEM oil filter + labor.

I would use only a Hyundai OEM filter. If you have any issues and have an aftermarket filter Hyundai will blame the filter. Not worth the hassle and the OEM filters are cheap and well built.

I bought the OEM filter from Hyundai, part # 26320 3CKB0 for my '17 3.8. You gonna need a 27mm socket or wrench to get the filter
cap off. Raise the car and remove the 10mm bolts that hold the under panels on to access the drain bolt and filter cap.

The OEM filter has "Mahle" stamped on it.

Thanks everyone I appreciate the info that the WIX will work and the info that I can just buy an OEM one as well. I'm going to contact one of the local Hyndai dealerships here in GA and see if I can pick one up this weekend and do my own oil change. Hopefully the OEM one will come with the crush washer as well. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Thanks again for the quick replies!!

The OEM filter had a crush washer for the drain plug and a new O ring for the filter cap also. I did order the WIX one for my '18 Stinger 3.3 TT and the filter came with the same other parts. Be sure to replace the O ring in the correct groove on the cap.

I usually get oil filters from the Hyundai dealership on Stone Mountain Hwy for about $11. I drive pass it on my way to and from work. Always has one in stock when I drop by.

RockAuto.com has the Mahle filter for $4.33. Mahle is known for making some of the finest pistons in the world.
