  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys!

First time poster here, wondering if anybody knows a trick to get under the front seat to get a cell phone or credit card that fell into the crack between the center console and the drivers seat, or the seat and the door. I'm not sure if there is an easy way to do it, or if i need to get some kind of tool to leave in the glove box for the next time this happens.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!

How about a ruler and push it out to the rear or front floor.

After making sure your Seat Position etc. is stored in Memory, raise the seat to its highest position and move either all the way forward or back, depending on where the object is hiding.

What has worked for me in the past was to move driver seat all the way forward, and access driver seat bottom/side from the back.
BTW, I did buy the buydropstop (see link above from seejay) and it works very well.

I ended up adjusting the seat until i could reach my fingers far enough under. I think I'm gonna go the dropstop route to save the skin on the top on my hand. Thanks for the advice!

How does the buydropstop work when the driver seat moves so much when turning off or starting the car?

That's what I have and I recovered and extended the bottom section by recovering it in some matching grey naugahyde from JoAnns and it works like a champ and worth the effort to customize mine to make it more functional.

It basically sits on top of the seat and since it has a slit for the seat belt it moves with the seat so your concern is IMO not an issue.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

Especially handy for roach infestations.

OP - I like to put my car on a lift and use an acetylene torch to cut a hatch in the floorboard.
