Hello and thank you for your time.
I haven't had the car for long but the water pump was replaced recently. No idea what led to that service.
Today was the second time that the temp shot up suddenly. The overheat first occurred during idle while sitting in the car, and then today, while driving ~40mph.
Today, there was fluid in the reservoir and infrared temp of block was about 230 degrees. The fan was running and there was some bubbling sounds of the coolant reservoir.
My first thought was the thermostat and/or something blocking flow. Any thoughts? Thank you again!
