  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

While we've already tested Hyundai's all-new, second-generation Genesis Sedan in its home market, the Korean brand unveiled the American-spec luxury car to the sleep-deprived journalists of Detroit.

The big sedan isn't wildly different from its KDM counterpart, boasting the same pair of engines that have done so well in the first-generation car. The 5.0-liter V8 still produces 429 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque, while the 3.8-liter V6 returns 333 hp and 291 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the current cars, the standard eight-speed automatic can send power to all four wheels, if so optioned. Rear drive remains standard.

The big piece of news surrounding the new Genesis is that Hyundai is aiming to keep the luxury sedan's starting price below $40,000. We knew official pricing hadn't been released, but according to a report from Automotive News, the company is confident the entry level models should remain quite reasonably priced.

We've been trolling the floors of Cobo Hall in Detroit, and have a range of images direct from the Genny Sedan's unveiling. Take a peak at those at the top of the page, and then scroll down for the press blast from Hyundai and our images from the Korean drive event.Continue reading 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan can be yours for under $40K [w/video]

I love the phone app. That's slick. I'd imagine they will be introducing a new engine in 2016. I'm still liking the current styling so I am interested to see these on the road. I'm not crazy about the new exterior design , but it could be different in real life.

Yeah, the exterior designing is awful. It's a very ugly car. However I would love to have that interior.

Agreed, the new body design is just awful. I just don't have the right words to express it, but it just seems clumsy and contrived. Not classy and refined. I think they were trying to go for an Audi A7 kind of look, but they really missed. I was really hoping that the car would look like this: http://www.rahnavard.com/Product-HYUNDAI-GENESIS-2014_1016.aspx but it just didn't happen. I'll stick with my R-Spec for now, and maybe I'll feel differently after seeing the new Genesis at the dealership. But probably not, it's pretty damn ugly IMHO.

Yes, sort of like the toupee of the new President of HMA.

I knew that as soon as they started talking about "Fluidic Design 2.0" for the 2015 Genesis that things were going to be a mess.

That's a very good question. Where is the car shown in the photo that's labeled as a 2014 Genesis? It seems that it does exist. Where has Hyundai hidden it???? This car had the front end that we were expecting.

Auto hold is so you can take your foot off the brake when stopped and the car won't move until you press the gas pedal.

Thank You Jutdean. Do they also have that button on the steering wheel?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
It's basically an option you can turn on whenever you want, but it defaults to off each time you start the car.

Does anyone know what the "Drive Mode" and "Auto Hold" buttons are for that are shown in the these pictures next to the shifter?

Auto-hold is on the 2013 Rspec. It's located on the lower left dash, and works as others have posted. I guess it would be pretty useful in stop-go city traffic. I've only used it when in line at Mac's getting breakfast --- that's my big outing ... mercy .. Regards, Dan.
