  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all
I'm about to pull the trigger on a Genisis 5.0
I'm currently looking at a 2015 5.0 with 20k on it
And a 2017 5.0 ultimate with 28k
On it
Is there any issues I should know about before buying?
They both look the same to me...untrained eye..lol

The 2015 had a few more problems with the head unit than the newer models. Little difference otherwise.

Head unit?
Audio?

The 2015 has the potential brake line corrosion problem, though there is a recall that should take care of that.
If they have both been treated and maintained well, then go for the 2017. Two years newer is worth more than 8K miles.
I don't think there were any real changes between 2015 and 2017, other than the radio got more reliable. 2018 has a few feature upgrades, like surround view cameras (a big plus in my opinion).

I'm looking at a 2018 also
It's the ultimate 5.0 AWD
But...it has 44k on it for $32k

Yes, radio, navigation, etc. Mine was replaced under warranty and it is very expensive. It was changed in 2016, IIRC

But, it still has some factory warranty left...
