2016 DRL question

2nd day with the Genny and love it so far. I noticed the amber turn signals have 2 filaments but neithet come on with the LED brows. Turn signals come on just fine. Shouldn't the low filament be on during the day? Do they only come on in drive? If so, they didn't come on while my wife was driving it home.

Looking at buying some morimoto switchback LEDs and wanted to make sure swapping out the 2357 would work fine.

OK, quick thing to add. I saw the 2015 models have the amber halogen DRLs. Does anyone with a 2016 have amber DRLs in conjunction with the LED brows?

I have a 2015 BUT if your led strips come on in the day with the headlights set to auto and NOT the amber lights I'm assuming the leds are your DRLs. The front turn signal bulbs in the hyundais are a problem in and of themselves. They are wired screwy and if you're going to replace them with leds - which is possible as I have done the same, you might have to swap the wiring pins in the plugs so they will work.

I have a 2016, only the LED strips come on with DRL, the ambers do not.

2015's however, have the amber bulbs come on (turn signals), instead of the LED strips as DRLs, unless an owner modified their 2015 setup.

I could be completely out in left field on this one, but, I believe the intent of Hyundai was to use the eyebrow lights as parking lights & to enhance the appearance of the headlights. You can use the eyebrows as DRLs but when you select that setting (during the day) it will cancel the ambers. When you turn off the ignition all lights will turn off including the eyebrows. At least on mine, after I turn off the car then select the eyebrow lights setting the eyebrows, taillights & dash lights will remain on after I lock the car and leave. That is why, at least my way of thinking, the eyebrows were meant to used as parking lights. I suppose I could always re-read the owners manual for the 100th time to get Hyundai's take on this one.

Thanks for all the replies. Since I saw the dual filament amber bulbs, I assumed they had a partial DRL (in conjunction with the LED brows) and signal purpose. I guess they're just wired for signals and the low filament is just there for the ride. So, I conclude the white color on the switchback LEDs won't make a difference.
