I did not get a part number...this is what the seller sent me yesterday...I also had an issue with moisture in the drivers fog lamp and a front impact sensor that he calims are a warranty issue also, which are not because there was some repair work done on the df which is the same place that is faulty....Anyone from the Virginia area who may know this guy?.... Anyone's thoughts?

Subject:Re: 2016 Hyundai Equus
Richard, I drove up to the local Hyundai dealer today to get their prospective about some of the issues you are having. The issues I wanted to address were mainly the sensor, the fog light, and the sunshades. I had my phone with me of course so I could show the service writer the eBay listing & pictures.
1) The srs sensor. The srs sensor would be covered if it was a defective part, but if the part was previously damaged by the driver then it would not be covered. He said it was probably fine for a while, but the jarring up & down on a car carrier for hundreds of miles could have caused it to set a code. Most likely if the car was just driven and not transported it probably would not have been an issue. He too could see the picture of the dash cluster with the car running (the tach gauge idling) with no light on. That’s just one of those things that can happen on a used car. Hence we are offering to pay the approximately $300 to replace the defective sensor.
2) The fog light. The fog light would be covered if the light failed internally, but glass chips, moisture, condensation, etc. are considered normal use and not covered. Hence this fog light has moisture in it from general use. The $700 price for a lens is quite high, so we were able to locate a like new one on eBay for $100 that will do the job just fine.
3) The sunshades. The service writer laughed at this one as he said he has never seen Hyundai cover a sunshade as long as the shades themselves go up & down. He said every Equss from 2011-2016 has the exact same issue from going up & down over the years. He said even if someone were to spend the money to replace them they would have the same look in 6 months again anyway as it is just the nature of the material Hyundai uses on their shades. (On a separate note he stated he never has seen one fail nor has he ever had a customer spend almost $4000 to replace them.)
With all of that being said we feel our offer to refund you $500 is quite generous. As you know all vehicles are sold as-is by our dealership. If you wish to accept this offer than we are happy to help, but if you do not want our help, that is up to you. Regardless, we have gone as far as we can with this. We can not keep debating the same topics via email day after day. We have other cars, other auctions, and other customers to attend to. We try very hard to make all of our customers happy, but we also know some customers will never be satisfied with a used vehicle purchase as that is just part of the business.
