2016 Genesis 3.8 sedan brake job

My brakes pads are about halfway and I'm getting ready to do a brake job in the future. For anyone who has done this job, do the rear calipers require a device to turn them back, or does just a straight pushing device return them flat? Thanks.

Just curious why do brakes @ 50 % ? Seems pretty early.
How many miles on your car? Mostly city or highway miles?
 
Yeah, I'm early. 41,000 mixed but mostly highway.
