  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm about a week and half into a trial bluelink subscription and I love the remote start feature. The last few times I've used it I've noticed that my taillights are flashing, almost like the hazard lights are on. Has anyone else ever seen this? Is this expected behavior?

Yes, this is normal. Many of us do not like it,but there is no way to disable it.

I did read that some towns have a law that if an unattended car has the engine running, the hazard lights should be on. That may be part of the reason.

Thanks, EdP. You beat me to it! :D

I love it when I walk out to my parking space at the office and people are looking at it... they can't see in because of the dark tint and I'm sure they're trying to figure out if anyone is in the car...lol

At least the horn ain’t blaring away like some of these damn alarms nobody pays any attention to!! 😏

Hope springs eternal that someday the hackers will show us how to defeat this feature, along with the "anti-takeover" feature; "feature" being sort of by the Microsoft definition for something most of us call a "bug"

At first I found the flashing lights annoying, but I didi find it easier to locate my vehicle after dark.

That's a good point that I hadn't considered. I don't necessarily find the lights annoying, I just didn't notice it the first few times I used the remote start. As EdP pointed out there are likely laws that need to be adhered to, as silly as they may be.

I had dealership program my key fob for remote start on my 2018 Highlander. As soon as you open the door, the vehicle turns off. Dumbest thing ever!
