  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2016 Sedan. It has been in the shop to have replacement parts related to the throttle body (first issue was a complete loss of the gas pedal and engine power). Since then haven't had same issue, thank goodness. But, seems now when I start the car and drive, and when accelerating say 20 - 30 MPH, there is a soft clicking noise which seems to be coming from under the gear shift area. It'll go away after driving a while. At the same time, I've noticed that if I'm cruising at say 30, and need to romp on the gas, it doesn't do so, kinda bogs down. I'm not sure if that's how this car is meant to run. Is it built to have more guts at higher speeds? When I change the drive type to "Sport", I don't seem to have that sluggish issue.

I think things are not quite right. I never hear a clicking sound and response of good. Sport mode changes the shift points so you are probably already in a lower gear.

When the throttle body was replaced, something may have been missed or out of adjustment. Get it checked.

I had the same issue; and the clicking noise is due to a faulty propeller shaft; replace it; and you'll be good to go. Good luck!

Is it a soft click or a flutter, like this?

Can’t help you with the clicking noise, but for the sluggishness, make sure the clamp on the air intake pipe is snug. I forgot to tighten it when I replaced my headlamp bulbs and I was wondering why the car was sluggish until I tightened it. Took a few miles for the computer to re-adapt after I tightened it but it was noticeable. If you had work done on your throttle body it’s possible they forgot to tighten it.

Note that I mean snug, not super tight. Over tighten and you’ll break the plastic intake pipe.

My '15 is so sluggish I cuss at it every time I go from reverse to drive and have to wait for congressional approval before the car acknowledges the fact I have the gas pedal depressed. My Ford Explorer Sport feels like a race car compared to my Hyundai.

I would take it back to the shop that repaired it and let them sort out the issue. Is the car still under warranty?

Still under warranty? If so, call the dealer. It should be responsive after a shift as it is any other time.

It's been to the dealer more than I'd care to remember.
