  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So the driver side rear door had a broken door handle where the small part has cracked around the screw which is supposed to hold it, luckily it stays on the door unless someone pulls the handle too far too quickly. Ordered this part over 6 months back and they keep telling me that the part is here but the paint shop doesn't have time to paint it 😡. And this week the front passenger door handle broke as well. When I spoke with the parts guy he tells me he cant see the part anywhere in Canada or even South Korea :prettymad:

I am really worried about parts availability when such regular parts are taking months to be delivered. Next I am going to try calling a few more dealers and if same response will call those in USA to see if they have the parts. As much as I like the car, I dread what will happen if it gets into a fender bender and it sits in a shop for months waiting for the parts. I will most likely have to part ways with it :(

Two thougths
Can you take the part to a body shop and have it painted and installed?

Can the second handle be found at a scrap yard? Some have netowrks to get parts from all over.

They never gave me the so called available part, when I asked they said oh its at the paint shop not here and like an idiot I believed them, today when I called there was a new guy and he says he doesn't see anything available anywhere.

Yes, trying to find alternatives(like calling US dealers, if one is near the border I can drive down and get it from them), I think for Genesis we definitely need non official channels to source parts. Haven't checked eBay yet, let me explore that as well.

If you have the part number, check www.sparekorea.com

I've ordered a few parts from them and they're legit and it seems like they ship to Canada also.
Thanks, dont have the part number but will try to find out.

So I ordered the parts from this site and received it in around 15 days, not bad at all, the bonus was that I was able to find out paint codes and order the exact one for my car. The local dealer told be that it would come in black color and I would have to spend over CAD $100 to get them painted per piece(each piece itself costing I believe ~$20 CAD) . I got two of these for $46 USD / $64 CAD home delivered :)
