2017 G80 Trunk Lock Actuator Replacement

Good Evening Folks,

I feel that I have to replace the trunk lock actuator on my 2017 G80 3.8. I believe this because over time the light that indicated that the trunk was open went from intermittent while driving to always on. Now, after messing with it, I see that the indicator light will turn off after I depress the part that locks to the hook on the bottom of the trunk a little further.

I’ve tried to see if I can adjust the actuator and cannot find a way.

This has also caused my battery to continuously drain (possibly).

Is there any guidance on how to replace this part?

Try adjusting the two trunk lid bump stops out instead. That worked for me. (It accomplishes the same thing as moving the bottom hook down would, except that it is not possible to move that down.)
