I have a 2017 Genesis G80 with 7000 miles on it. When I went to start the car after sitting for a few months, I get a warning, _"SYSYTEM CHECK -89 Days) and the car will not start.

Appears the battery is dead. What size or number is the replacement battery for the 2017 G80?

Also with the SYSTEM CHECK warning and unable to start the car, do you think it may be another issue.

The car is in showroom condition and was shocked to find out the G80 would not start. I have the battery on a CTEK reconditioning charger.

Any input would help.

I guess I need to ask how you would expect the battery not to have been discharged after sitting unrun for several months? The security electronics in the car will discharge the battery in probably less than a month. Your battery might (and I say might) recover if you recharge it.

Thank you. I have the battery hooked to a CTEK MUS 4.3 (8 step charger). So far with the CTEK 8 step process of charging, after a few hours I have reached the 3rd step. 4 more steps to go. Yes, I plan on replacing the battery.

Your battery may recover and not need replacement.

Have similar car and charger and wondering if you hooked up charger to battery in trunk or used connections under the hood. I will be doing same this Fall and was curious which way you went. Assume you are using amg setting. Thanks for any info.

I connected my CTEK MUS4.3 (8 Step) charger directly to the battery. The battery was dead, but still had lights in the cabin, but did not have enough crank to turn the engine. After 30 hours the battery was totally charged. Car started immediately. Since I live in the desert southwest, and battery is 40 months old, I decided to replace the battery with a Diehard Platinum AGM 3 yr full replacement for $199.99 + $22.00 core charge. The G80 is in immaculate condition with 7800 miles, I don't drive the car much, fully loaded (every option possible) so I have decided to sell it. The CTEK MUS4.3 is a great charger and highly recommend buying at Amazon.

Hi. Which engine, trim and color is your 2017 G80? And how much are you selling it for?

Andyj:

See attachment. Tells everything you would want to know. I am 68 wife 70 and she drives her small SUV, I drive my truck and SLC300. Thus the reason for the sale. Immaculate/showroom condition. First $31,000 takes it. I live in New Mexico along I-10 and I-25 easy to transport if needed. Smells like new inside. No smokers, no hamburger eaters in the car ever. It's beautiful. I bought the car site unseen from Scottsdale, AZ and had it transported to me in Las Cruces, NM. Not a scratch on the car. It was the exterior color I wanted and interior. Has both the Premium and Ultimate Package rarely seen in the Genesis G80.
