  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have had my G70 for about 1 year and the spots around the Windows and trim are getting worse. It makes my vehicle look 15 years old. I just got my vehicle ceramic coated and the guy there said there was nothing he could do about it, is anyone have this same issue? The door handles are fine and the front grill is fine but the trim just looks horrible. Does anyone know if there is a recall for this or have had the dealership replace this?

Yes the dealer would replace it free of charge. Others have had this same issue and with some of the interior trim pieces doing the same thing.

Same here... Mine arrived with the same spots, but I just saw them one week later. I'll wait for spring to have them replaced

I called the dealership they are going to take a look at them on the Dec 9th. Take some pictures and order replacements. They told me it’s a known issue. I just hope they don’t hurt my ceramic coating that I just had put on when they take them off. By the 9th it should be done curing.

I think your coating should be fine. Now the dealer may screw up something else removing the trim pieces for that can be a delicate job to not break or snap off something. Would be interesting to know how easy the window trim pieces un-snap or if other parts must also come off?

From what I was looking up the rear quarter panel window Hass to be removed to change the trim. They break it they fix it. My car is better than it looked when I got it. It’s grave kept and only has 7,500 miles on it

So far the dealership had no issues with doing the repair. But they only did one side and damaged the other side when installing the trim. So it’s not 100 percent fixed. I’ll keep you all posted. Thank you so much for all your help with the information I got from this site. It was a pain free getting the dealership to fix the trim.

What actually did the dealer damage? Just curious in case others need to have this trim replaced so we know what to watch out for?

The part they damaged was the trim it’s self. Some of it had dimples in the trim while installing and the other side they didn’t line up properly when they installed it. Plus one of the pieces they installed had some of the spots or corrosion forming.
