2019 G90 Bluetooth Map Instructions Not Audible

I'm a new 2019 G90 owner and new member of this forum. My question relates to the playback from my iPhone through the bluetooth connection. If I am listening to an audio source through the bluetooth connection on my iPhone (like Audible) while using Apple Map for direction instructions, my playback will be interrupted each time there is a direction instruction, as I would expect. However, I can't hear the instruction. I just get a few seconds of silence, then my Audible playback resumes.

Does anyone know if this is a problem with my phone or if it is a problem with the car? It seems like it's possible to set the volume differently for different sources, so I wondered if volume might just be turned all the way down for driving directions, but I can't find that setting (if it even exists).

Anyone have any suggestions?

Try turning the volume knob (on the car) up while the it should be talking.

jorgr, that is such a genius (and obvious, in retrospect) answer that I was convinced it must be the solution. Unfortunately, it wasn't. Turning up the volume had no effect and the visual volume display showed that I was only raising the regular bluetooth volume.

But the fact that the obviously sensible answer didn't work made me more suspicious that it must be a problem with my phone. And, sure enough, it is.

When I play audio over the bluetooth connection from Spotify and YouTube, the driving directions interrupt properly and at appropriate volume. It's apparently only Audible that has this problem. So I guess I'm going to the iPhone forums for an answer now.

But thanks so much for the advice! You obviously know your stuff -- and I would not have thought to suspect the phone without your "correct" answer not working.
