  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2019 Genesis Blower Resistor Failing Due To Faulty Front Wiring Assembly? I’m desperate.

Omg this just happened to me today… did you figure yours out? I’m still under warranty and I can’t afford any of what everyone is talking about ! This is insane!
Same... Luxury my ass!

I bought my g70 on 8/26/2023 with about 59350 miles. Beautiful paid cash under KBB. Get it transferred over in genesis records so I can use all connected services. Link it to autotrader so it reminds me of my service schedule because I'm a nerd. Start looking in the diagnostic area and there is a spot to check the codes that have alerted on the car. A crap ton pop up starting back in Sept 2022. Look at the service records from previous owner with basic info can see he's been having electrical problems with this car for a long time. Start to get really worried run the actual car health while in the car on 9/12 ETC codes alert. Call Genesis customer care line they call the local dealer (Hyundai/Genesis) no appointment until November. Service lady says lete talk to my manager and call you back. No call but I do get a text saying I made an appointment for 10/4/2023. Wow thanks! Don't drive car except for emergencies ~300 miles since I bought it. Drop the car off 10/3. Get a call 10/4 saying the multi-fuse is melting and the harness needs to be replaced. One part (harness) is backordered until end of November. Dealership doesn't have any loans. Now dealing with Genesis case manager and she is trying to have the part expedited and a rental until my car is ready. I move out of state at the end of the month. I don't trust the dealership since the previous owner had already had it checked there for problems. I asked for some remedy of having it moved to a real genesis dealership in a bigger city. Transfer to my new state when it is completed and a rental. I just want them to help me wash my hands clear of these problems they created. I haven't contacted the BBB yet I don't know if I should. I live in Florida there are no laws here to protect consumer rights (they don't believe in LEMONs here only oranges). View attachment 56000
This sucks, I’ve read quite a few people with the same issue. I also read that the motor should be removed in order to replace the whole wire loom and harness, but Genesis is cutting the wires and splicing in a new harness, which is obv not the way to do it. I would bring this up to them so they know you are aware of the proper way to fix it. I live in FL as well and I’m sure you know that it’s most dealerships. I’m not making any excuses for Genesis, I just got mine 8 months ago and my first time in for service I was thinking about going to jail, they were the worst. I went on Google and blasted them and the GM reached out and asked me to please come back and give them another shot. That was in March, went back a month ago and they were stellar. Someone hit the wheel on my car in June and my car was at the shop waiting on a wheel and suspension parts for almost 6 weeks. I came from having Cadillac CTS-Vs and Cadillac is bad, waiting 6 weeks for parts is ridiculous though. I hope you can get something expedited for you. Good luck.

Like others, I got the extended warranty notification for the blower motor. And guess what? The day after, the blower motor failed again.

When I first got this serviced 2-3 years ago, the tech told me the front wiring assembly would need to be replaced. I couldn't find any other posts online with people dealing with the same issue. Now there's quite a bit of posts about possibly the front wiring assembly being the root of the issue.

My question is, would this extended warranty cover the front wiring harness, or just the blower motor/fuses (which will break again)?

Also, funny enough, 2 months ago I had to replace my 2019 g70 fuel pumps and spark plugs, costing me 2k. I wonder if the issue is related?

I started dealing with the Genesis dealer in October and dropped my car off for them to diagnose and explained to them that I had read up on the issue and it would require a full wiring harness replacement. They kept the car two days said they were ordering the parts and confirmed that it was covered by the warranty.

Parts come in, I go back drop off my car and pick up a loaner. They kept it from Oct 4 to November 15 at which point they still didn’t have all the parts to start the repair (they didn’t order the full wiring harness for at least another week after I had dropped it off.) So I put a couple thousand miles on their loaner and now I’m back in my car still waiting for parts. Last word was there were only 3 wiring harnesses in the country and they are having trouble getting their hands on them. Be prepared for a wait.

I just got my car back from after and whole month and I don’t think they change or fix the problem I think they just change the fuse and my car still have shit popping up discharge battery warning and turn car on to use this feature and my car running and on back up camera not working and I literally just pick my car up front the dealership today and I been telling the dealership I bought the car from day 2 of owning the car and the dealership that said they fixed the problem

I finally received my car back from the dealer fixed and working. I dropped it off last Thursday and picked it up yesterday after they had time to get the parts in from back order. The AC works again just in time for summer. I attached the service record in case anyone wants to see or needs to show their dealer what all part numbers were required to make this right. Total time to completion was from September to April.
